About the Ferry Ticketing System
The Toronto Island Ferry Ticketing System is operated by Parks, Forestry & Recreation, a division of the City of Toronto. Online ticket sales were introduced in 2017 to reduce queues at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and to make planning a trip to Toronto Island Park a little less unpredictable.
Routes
Three island destinations are served year-round from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the foot of Bay Street:
- Centre Island — family beach, formal gardens, Centreville Amusement Park (in season).
- Hanlan’s Point — west-end beach, BMX park, less crowded shorelines.
- Ward’s Island — east end, residential community, quiet coves, Algonquin Island bridge.
Schedules
Ferries operate seven days a week. Off-season service is reduced; peak weekend service runs every 15–30 minutes. The schedule on this site is kept in step with the operations team and updated when seasonal changes take effect.
Tickets & pricing
Ticket prices are set by Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 441, and reviewed annually. Current rates are visible on the home page and at the terminal. Children under 2 travel free.
Who runs this site
This online ticketing front-end is operated by the City of Toronto, Parks, Forestry & Recreation. Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant provider on our behalf. Card data is never stored on City servers.
Accessibility
All ferries are accessible. Wheelchair, mobility scooter and stroller boarding is supported at every sailing. If you require additional assistance, please ask a terminal attendant on arrival.
